Josh Purdy is our minister. He is 28 years old and full of a passion for God and a love for people. He is dedicated to proclaiming the Word of God without apologies.  His sermons are energetic, to the point, and full of scripture.

Josh grew up in the mountains of Roanoke Virginia. He is a 2004 graduate of Johnson Bible College where he earned his BA in Bible, Youth Ministry, and Preaching. While at Johnson, he served in several youth ministry internships. During his senior year, he also served as youth minister with the Blue Ridge Christian Church in Fletcher, NC (Near Asheville). Upon Graduation Josh continued with Blue Ridge Christian Church as a full time associate minister.

Following this ministry, Josh attended seminary full time at Emmanuel School of Religion in Johnson City, TN.   When he left Emmanuel, he spent one year working in a tire factory.

In November of 2007 Josh began preaching at Oak Grove Church of Christ in Robersonville, NC.  During this ministry, Josh and Lauren were married on April 26, 2008.  Josh was also ordained into the preaching ministry by the council of Elders on Feb 22, 2009.  Josh preached his last Sunday with Oak Grove Church of Christ on July 4, 2010.  They were very sad to see him go, but did not want to limit the calling God put on Josh's  life.

On July 11, 2010, Josh preached his first Sunday with us as our Sr. Minister.  The hearing of the Word of God preached has the power to save souls, to change lives, and to unite believers.   If you have an ear to hear, Josh invites you to come and believe the Gospel, become a new person, and belong to a family.
