Here at Mechanicsburg we believe that every Christian should be serving the Lord in ministry. Since God has given each of us different abilities and interests it is only appropriate that we use them for Him the best that we possibly can. This allows us to do our part in helping the church grow and become all that God has intended it to become.

Paul shares with us in Ephesians 4:11-13, "It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."

Therefore, we have developed a ministry system in which God's people can more readily use their gifts to serve the Lord in this local church and in our surrounding communities.

We encourage you, whether you are a member of this congregation or thinking about serving the Lord in this place, to look over our ministries and see where you might be able to serve the Lord with the gifts He has given you.  If you do not see a ministry that fits you just right please get with our Evangelist and he will help you find that special place for you to serve and even begin a new ministry if necessary.

May our Lord bless you in a very special way as you begin serving Him in a powerful way.  Not only will the church and community be blessed and strengthened but you will recieve far more blessing than you ever imagined.

COMMUNICATION MINISTRY

The Communication Ministry has been formed for the purpose of promoting stronger communication throughout the church, the leadership and keeping all church members and friends advised of dates, times and events.  Recently formed, it includes designated Ministry Head Chris Smith, Stan Bogan, Pat Garland, Sarah King, Roz Edens and Karen Patchett.  This ministry is not expected to solicit information, but rather to organize, distribute and publicize the information given to them.  The heads of all other ministries, staff, worship leaders and servant leaders are responsible to communicate with this ministry in a timely manner the activities of their ministries that need to be publicized.  This ministry will develop procedures to make it easy for others to submit information to them.  It will coordinate and develop communication and promotional materials for the church as a whole.  These efforts will include, but are not limited to, Sunday bulletins, website, newsletter, calendar, worship service, advertising, development of an information center and supporting materials and audio-visual monitors information.
